VDOT 511 Virginia Traffic

A major redevelopment of the VDOT 511 application! We still provide a dynamic one-stop-shop for traveler information needs across Virginia - but with enhanced features including:

- Drive Mode which can provide proximity-based alerts of events in your area that you can customize to your preferred types and distance from you.

- Choose to get directions and set your destination in the app (from Drive Mode or in Settings) to further limit events to only those on our route, with customizable distances from your route included. All while Google Maps provides turn-by-turn directions alongside your custom alerts.

- A direct connection to VDOT cameras for instant information on roadways on your route.

- Our Traffic Map lets you search areas of your choosing for a variety of events, closures, cameras, and more. Toggle the various map layers for a multitude of categories by selecting the right-side menu icons.

- Our section on Adverse Road Conditions provides a quick look at dangerous locations in your area.

- Tolling Info provides quick links to toll-related details.

- You can report a road issue for a variety of reasons so we can address issues you see first-hand.

- A plethora of other functions including direct links to: travel times, plow info, park & ride lots, MyVDOT, and more!
